Agent Phil Coulson is #21 of MTV's Top Movie Characters of 2012

word-smith:

We’re more than halfway through the MTV Movies team’s countdown of the Top 50 Movie Characters of 2012, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to bust out Earth’s mightiest heroes. But it’s not an actual Avenger on today’s list of spots 30 through 21; it’s one of the team’s…

Hey you all so I finally got around to reading the first six issues (seven comes out next week) of the new Captain Marvel series, and it is really, really good. Of all the comics I’ve read, it is my favorite so far.
I THINK THAT YOU ALL SHOULD READ IT TOO. Even if you haven’t read any of the previous comics with Carol Danvers, you should be able to pick up on everything fairly well. If you’re worried, just do a quick read through of her bio on marvelwiki and you’ll be fine.
SO FAR SIX ISSUES HAVE COME OUT AND THEY FEATURE:
-AN AWESOME AS HELL FEMALE LEAD. Carol Danvers was awesome even long before she got her powers. She was an air force colonel (she outranks Captain America, which she is happy to point out), an amazing pilot, a CIA agent, a NASA security director, a novelist, and a journalist. She loves the SKY and PLANES and she’s an AVIATOR, all of which I am very weak to.
-PRETTY MUCH ALL WOMEN ALL THE TIME. There are some appearances from Avengers like Spider-Man and Captain America, but outside of that? Just about everyone we see interacting with Carol is a lady. AND THEY ARE REALLY COOL LADIES. Lest you be concerned this may only be happening in the first arc, we know for a fact that the second arc will feature MORE awesome ladies in addition to Carol.
-A COOL STORYLINE. It’s time travel, which I know some people cringe at, but it’s actually pretty good. Plus it means you get to see ladies from both WWII and the early 1960s being awesome and doing their damndest in fields traditionally reserved for men.
-NOT MUCH CREEPY OBJECTIFICATION. Carol’s Captain Marvel uniform doesn’t really sexualize her at all. While she does look gorgeous in it, the outfit covers her from head to to toe and it’s similar in design to what a lot of male superheroes wear. This is definitely an upgrade as her old costume was basically a swimsuit. They’ve also been pretty good at avoiding gratuitous T&A shots.
-THE AUTHOR IS A WOMAN.A link that verifies that Kelly Sue DeConnick is indeed a woman.
-IT’S ONLY SIX ISSUES LONG RIGHT NOW. That means there is not that much to catch up on! Issue six concluded the first arc, so issue seven will kick off something new.
-BECAUSE THE WORLD NEEDS MORE COMICS ABOUT WOMEN, AND SUPPORTING THIS ONE (OR ANY OTHER LADY CENTERED COMIC) SHOWS THE POWERS THAT BE THAT WE ARE INTERESTED IN SEEING THEM PUBLISHED.

In case all the above wasn’t good enough, let me state the witting and art has been awesome! Good stories, good characters, good art; all things that make for great comics.

And because I like it when Mandy gets paid because then she buys me drinks at D*C: Comixology link to whole series so far.

Laughing so hard at Cati’s endorsement. First pint is on me, Cati.

If everyone on tumblr buys Captain Marvel, we all get stinking drunk. What better endorsement?
